Walakadawattage Gayani Sadeeka Kumari

Dear Sir/Madam, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your urgent attention a matter of serious concern regarding the unlawful removal of my two children from Sri Lanka to Finland without my consent or legal authorization. My name is Walakadawattage Gayani Sadeeka Kumari (NIC: 198272001049), and I am the biological mother and legal guardian of the following children: Ranpata Bendige Pemitha Samadith De Silva   Date of Birth: 24/05/2010   Passport Number: N9940374 (Issued on: 20/09/2022 – Expiry: 20/09/2025) Ranpata Bendige Chenitha Samadith De Silva   Date of Birth: 03/03/2016   Passport Number: N9940373 (Issued on: 20/09/2022 – Expiry: 20/09/2025) Their father, Ranpata Bendige Gayan Indika De Silva (Passport Number: N9950983), has taken both children to Finland without informing me or obtaining my consent. I was unaware of any travel arrangements, and no legal permissions were granted by me for their departure. The children were removed from Sri Lanka on 30th June 2025 via Emirates Flight EK655 to Dubai, and subsequently traveled to Finland. I am extremely concerned for their emotional wellbeing, legal status, and safety. I respectfully request the assistance of the Embassy in the following: Confirming whether the children are currently present in Finland. Investigating whether the appropriate consent and legal travel documentation were submitted for their departure. Taking immediate steps to protect the children’s rights and well-being, and to facilitate their safe return to Sri Lanka. Please note that I am preparing to initiate legal action both locally and internationally in accordance with laws related to unlawful removal of minors and parental abduction. For your reference, I have attached scanned copies of: Children’s birth certificates My National Identity Card and Marriage Certificate Family photographs as evidence of relationship and care Special Request: I kindly urge the relevant authorities not to renew or reissue the passports of the above-mentioned children in the future without the explicit written consent of the mother, who is the legal guardian. Doing so without proper parental consent could further violate my rights and jeopardize the welfare of the children. Additionally, I am in the process of sending supporting documents via DHL courier. Kindly provide me with the correct and complete postal addresses of: The Embassy of Finland handling consular matters for Sri Lanka The relevant department or authority in Finland that deals with child protection and parental abduction cases Your prompt assistance and guidance in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and immediate attention.
