I am writing regarding the detention and disappearance of Palestinian human rights defender Ayman Ghraieb, who was taken by Israeli forces around 17 November 2025 in the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank. Reports indicate that he is being held in a military facility, with no transparent legal process, no confirmed access to a lawyer, and no clear information about his status or location. This situation is unacceptable. I am demanding the following: 1. Immediate confirmation of where Ayman Ghraieb is being held 2. A clear statement of his legal status and the reasons for his detention 3. Immediate access for him to legal representation, contact with his family, and any required medical care 4. His prompt release unless there are specific, credible, and lawful charges brought against him in a transparent legal process that meets international standards The detention and disappearance of a human rights defender who documents violations and supports vulnerable communities is a serious human rights concern. Arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, and denial of due process violate international law. This case is being followed internationally and will continue to be raised with governments, international organizations, and human rights bodies. I expect a direct and substantive response from your office regarding his location, his condition, and the steps being taken to ensure his rights are respected.
